(Reblogged from Bookin’ It)
My name is Kaelen. (My Granny would never have seen that coming!) Kaelen is Celtic for Mighty Warrior, and after the way I spent the last forty-eight hours, I think my mommy and daddy called it right. It was a long battle, but I made it! And I think my mommy is a warrior, too! She and I struggled for a long, long time, but she got me here just fine. I met my daddy right away, and he looks like a warrior, himself, so I guess it’s a family thing! I weigh 8 pounds and 11 ounces, and I’m 21 inches long. I’m told that means I’m not only mighty but BIG, too. I can’t wait to get to know all about the world, but for now, I’m just going to take a wee nap. Even Mighty Warriors need their rest, you know. ‘Nite.
I love his greeting. He is so smart, just like his granny. Doing a happy dance.

Awww, thanks, Felix! He does have rather developed writing skills, doesn’t he? For a newborn, I mean?

Thanks, Sue. He looks very…Zen…doesn’t he? Like he knows the secrets of the world. And maybe he does Maybe it’s growing up that makes us lose them? He wasn’t red or splotchy at all, which really surprised me, given how long she was in labor (total 35 hours or so, with hard labor being roughly 19 hours). In fact, they BOTH are remarkable. Erin is feeling great and the baby is doing well, so they are probably going home today. Yay!! Happy news all the way around.

Thanks, Carolyn. He does have the look of a very wise little man, doesn’t he? Very Zen. A fellow blogger said he looked so serene, it was like he was a second incarnation of the Dalai Lama! π
I’m flying out to California for a week on Tuesday, so I will get to love on him a whole bunch. I told Erin not to use up all his CUTE before I get there!

Haha, Marcia. I doubt that his ‘cute’ will be ‘used up’… π
Enjoy your trip and stay. Don’t use up all your lovin’ though; he’s gonna be around for a mighty long time to come…!
